BIOGRAPHY: Christopher D. Broadbridge

Christopher D. Broadbridge was born in England in 1947. In 1964, he started his training as a picture engraver at Bradbury Wilkinson, where Bob Godbehear was his mentor. Some fifteen years later he would move on to studying portrait engraving, this time guided along by the likes of Ron Beckers and Alan Dow. In 1986, after De La Rue had bought Bradbury Wilkinson, Broadbridge went to work for Komori Currency Technology in Surrey.

Broadbridge mainly engraved banknotes, but he is said to have engraved stamps (plural!) as well. However, so far only one stamp has been credited to his name: the 2004 USA issue depicting
USS Constellation
