BOOKS: Four engravers under a magnifying glass

I know my 'books' are getting smaller and smaller! Yesterday we had a brochure, today it's mainly a folder with a few leaflets . But what leaflets!

I'm talking about a publication by the Swedish post, celebrating gtheir engravers. It's called 4 gravörer under lupp, or Four engravers under a magnifying glass. The text, by Martin Mörck, is a small introduction on the origins and art of (stamp) engraving. The main text is in Swedish, but there is a (shorter) English translation as well.

Then there are four leaflets, each conatining a short biography of an engraver: we have Czeslaw Slania, Lars Sjööblom, aforementioned Martin Mörck, and Piotr Naszarkowski. Again, these are in Swedish, and the translation is a very short affair.

But that's all fairly immaterial, because the real reason you should track this publication down, is that each engraver has submitted an engraving for this folder, so you get four art works, and they are stunning. Slania's Napoleon on horseback, Mörck's Greenland view, Naszarkowski's classic statue are all fine specimens to have, and to top it all, Sjööblom's eagle is truly stunning. So get it!
