BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Vittorio Nicastro, brother of Pietro Nicastro, was born in Rome on 28 May 1916. He worked at the Italian Government Printing Works from 1932 to 1972. He was an autodidact. The first stamps he engraved were the 80c and 10l values of the 1938 airmail set for the Vatican City. In 1950, he engraved his first stamp for his native Italy; the 100l from the Occupations definitive set.
He has also engraved stamps for Libya.
