BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
The design of some of the stamps in the 1884 stamp duty series (6d to £10 and the £50) for Victoria include the letters J and L with L standing for Lang the designer and J for Jackson the engraver. The letters also appear on the unissued values of this set, apart from the 11/- value which only has the L.
